Over 1000 students turned up for the Second IGNOU-PCTI Job Fair held at PCTI, Pitampura

Total 385 Students selected/short-listed in the Fair

Campus Placement Cell (CPC) of Indira Gandhi National University (IGNOU) organized a Job Fair with one of its Study Centres, PC Training Institute, Pitampura for the Bachelors and Post Graduate students on 26th Feb 2016. A total of 1084 students participated in the fair. There were 13 companies which came in the fair for the placements.

Dr. V. Venugopal Reddy, Director, Regional Services Division, Dr. C. K. Ghosh, Regional Director RC Delhi-3 Dr. Sanjeev Pandey, Regional Director RC Delhi-2 and Prof. Manoj Kulsrestha, Director Incharge, CPC, IGNOU were also present at the fair.

Addressing the gathering Dr. Reddy welcomed all the Students who came for the job fair and also interacted with them regarding their experience of the event. Dr. Ghosh motivated the students citing many daily life incidents. Dr. Pandey Congratulated PCTI and CPC for their valuable efforts of organising such a big event. He said IGNOU has adopted learner centric approach and its all activities always vowel around students.

Prof. Manoj Kulsrestha shared his views and gave an account of activities of CPC. He Said “CPC is committed to help students for good placements for working in a dignified manner. In 2015, CPC conducted placement drives every month in which 3800 students participated and 778 were selected and placed,”. He informed that similar drives will be conducted in coming month also.

A total of 385 students were selected/short-listed by the participating companies namely Adecco India Pvt. Ltd., Genpact, Convergys, Policy Bazaar, Yatra.com, Goibibo.com, Delvin Formulations, Team Lease Services Ltd., Kaam24.com, HR Vision Consultants, TMI Group etc.

Ms. Neha Sharma, student of BCA who was selected as a developer, told that “we always welcome this initiative by IGNOU, as they provide good opportunities for students of Open and Distance Learning (ODL) to get placed.”


Another student of MCA, Mr. Abhishek Bhatiya, who was also short-listed for a company said “I was very much excited that IGNOU is providing us placement opportunity every month, now I can say, we have equal job opportunities as compared to conventional stream students."
