IGNOU convocation on 8 Aug

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) will organise its 28th convocation on 8 August at its campus in Maidan Garhi,where Phd.and M.Phil scholars will be awarded degrees.

However, the Masters and Bachelor programme students will be awarded their degrees at their respective Regional Centres. The Varsity official said, “The total number of students to be awarded Degrees and Diplomas are 1,90,299, who have passed the examination in December 2013 and June 2014.”


Prof.Hari Gautam,Renowned educationist, Former Chairman, University Grants Commission (UGC) and currently President Mahatma Gandhi University of Medical Science and Technology, Jaipur will be the Chief Guest. “During this convocation 90 gold medals will be given to the meritorious students and various awards to candidates viz. Ram Reddy Award,Abdul Kalam Award, Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA) Award, Mother Teresa Award and Prof. Grover Award,” added the official.

Besides, the convocation will also showcase an exhibition highlighting the various achievements of the Varsity. Furthermore,the convocation shall be telecast live on Edusat, NIC, YouTube and webcast link on www.ignou.ac.in. Students of Delhi NCR can also witness the live webcasting of the convocation programme at Maneskshaw Centre.
