Dissent is the essence of democracy and article 19 of the Constitution of India gives the fundamental right to every citizen for speech, expression and to assemble peacefully without arms. Section 51 A of the Constitution contains the fundamental duty of every citizen of India to cherish and follow the noble ideals which inspired our national struggle for freedom.
Anna Hazare has acted in the highest democratic tradition and in the spirit of the Constitution to focus the anguish of the ordinary citizen and particularly the poor people who are directly hit by corruption. If a child is dying of hunger in Orissa or Bihar, It is because the development funds for reducing poverty have been plundered on the way.
