IGNOU January 2020 admission: Last date extended to January 31

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the last date for online application process January 2020 admissions to January 31, 2020.

The information available on the official website reads “Online Admission
Open for Jan. 2020 Session-Date extended up to 31st January 2020.”
The candidates who are yet to fill up online applications for IGNOU January 2020 session are advised to visit the official website of IGNOU — ignou.ac.in - to submit the online application forms

IGNOU launches Master of Arts in Development Studies; Online Admissions Open for July Session

IGNOU's School of Extension and Development Studies (SOEDS) has launched Master of Arts (Development Studies) (Code: MADVS) from July 2018 session. MADVS programme is meant for development professionals across the sectors and for fresh graduates interested in pursuing career as a development professional, informed, Programme Coordinator, Prof. P. V. K. Sasidhar.
This 2 year program can be pursued by any graduate having degree in any discipline.
Programme Objectives:
  • To impart knowledge on various aspects of development studies.
  • To train qualified human resources in the professional area of development studies.
  • To develop professional skills in formulation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of development projects and programmes.

Ignou waives course fee for transgenders

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (Ignou) has decided to exempt transgender students from payment of fee from this academic year.


Students can get enrolled to any of the academic programmes without paying a penny against the procurement of a certificate from the union or state government or a medical officer. Aadhaar cards stating their gender can also be used as proof.



Admission for the July 2017 session is open till 31st July. The move is aimed at the welfare of the transgender community. This will enable transgenders get education and lead a decent life, said an official statement from Ignou.



"Fearing discrimination and bullying by peers, many of them are reluctant to join regular colleges. So we have decided to offer them free courses," said Masood Parveez, Senior Regional Director, Ignou Regional Centre pune.

Transgenders to get free education at IGNOU

For transgenders desiring to pursue a course in tourism or psychology, help is right at hand. Encouraging the third gender to pursue higher studies, the Indira Gandhi National Open University(IGNOU) has decided to provide free education to transgenders from its July session. The move is aimed at bringing universalisation and democratisation in education. So far, IGNOU provided free education to sex workers, jail inmates and weavers.

IGNOU launches Certificate Programme in Russian Language


The School of Foreign Languages of the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has launched a Certificate programme in Russian Language which aims to provide the basics of Russian Language for beginners enabling them to read, write and speak Russian language in an accurate manner.
The six month duration programme worth 16 credits is bilingual (Russian/English) and is offered through Open and Distance Learning mode through Self Learning Material integrated with Audio-Visual components.
 
The programme is useful for all sections of society and especially for those engaged in Tourism, Defense, Multinationals, Education, BPO, KPO and SMEsectors. It is equally useful for fresh graduates who wish to go to Russia and the CIS for further studies, said Shivaji Bhaskar- Programme Coordinator & Faculty of Russian at SOFL IGNOU.
According to Prof. Anju Sehgal Gupta, Director, SOFL, “the demand of Russian in India is ever-growing. As one of the official language of the UN, knowledge of Russian will certainly give an added advantage to learners in their respective fields.
 
The last date for admission is 16th January , 2017.
 
The Common Prospectus is available at all the Regional Centres/ Study Centres of the University which can be obtained in person on payment of Rs. 200/- or through post by sending a DD for Rs. 250/-.

IGNOU extends the last date for Admission for the January 2017 Cycle

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the last date of admission for all academic programmes offered through Common Prospectus up to 30th December, 2016 without late fee for the January 2017 Cycle.  The last date for Re-Registration has also been extended till 30th December, 2016.
 
Common Prospectus is available at all the Regional Centres/ Study Centres of the University which can be obtained in person on payment of Rs. 200/- or through post by sending a DD for Rs. 250/-.
 
Admission Form can also be submitted online by creating a User ID and logging on to https://onlineadmission.ignou.ac.in by making payment through net banking/ debit card/ credit card.

It is informed that the last date of receiving the filled in examination form without any late fee has been extended by fifteen days.  The revised schedule is as appended below –
1st September, 2016 to 15th October, 2016    -  Exam form to be accepted without any
                                                                          late fee

16th October, 2016 to 31st October, 2016 -       With late fee of Rs.500/-
1st November, 2016 to 15th November, 2016 – With late fee of Rs.1000/-


It is also informed that the online link for accepting the examination form has also been made live.  The students can now use the link for submitting the examination form on-line as per above schedule.

Term End Examination December 2016

Please find enclosed the examination for Dec 2016 it is necessary to fill the exam form to appear in the Term End Examination Dec 2016. The Examination Fees is Rupees 120 per Course/Subject and it is mandatory to submit the assignments before submitting the exam form.

Campus Placement Drive for ICICI Prudential and NetAmbit on May 18, 2016 (Wednesday) in Convention Centre

he Campus Placement Cell (CPC), IGNOU in association with Regional Centres of Delhi, NCR and adjoining RCs (Karnal, Aligarh, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Khanna and Jaipur) is organizing Campus Placement Drive for ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Ltd. and NetAmbit (an insurance broking firm) along with two HR agencies namely Vetta Solutions for Navigaint Technology and Get Hired for Interglobe Technologies and Globus Infocom as their clients onMay 18, 2016 (Wednesday) at the Convention Centre, IGNOU Campus, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi.Some other companies are also expected to confirm their participation in near future. As and when their participation is confirmed their respective Job Descriptions (JDs) would be uploaded on IGNOU website. The salary bracket for all offered positions is Rs. 12,000 to Rs. 25,000 per month.
 
The Placement Drive has been targeted for the final year students registered in July 2015 and January 2016 sessions in BA, BCOM, BSC, BSW, BCA, BTS. All registered students of MAH, MPS, MEG, MPA, MCA, MTM, MCOM are also eligible to participate in the drive.
The students are required to carry a copy of their recent resume (mandatorily containing IGNOU enrolment no.), an ID proof, address proof and recent passport size photograph at the time of interview. The students have to join immediately as these are urgent openings.
 
As you are aware, it is a placement drive in which multiple companies would be participating, hence, you are advised to go through the JDs of the companies very carefully.
