The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) will offer online programmes to overseas learners as well. Till now, the courses offered by IGNOU were limited to Indian students only. IGNOU has set-up the Centre for Online Education (COE) for the expansion of its courses to foreign nationals.

Courses offered to international students include MA in Hindi, MA in Gandhi and Peace Studies, certificate in tribal studies, PG diploma in Gandhi and Peace Studies, a certificate programme in Arabic language, MA of translation studies among others.

One-time application processing fees for SAARC is INR2000 and USD 200 for students hailing from non-SAARC nations.

“The online mode uses a four-quadrant approach where a teacher is able to mentor each learner and includes videos and associated reading material per credit making it rich and easy to comprehend. The learner is also provided 24×7 online support during the learning process,” IGNOU said in an official statement.

Meanwhile, IGNOU extends the last date of admission and re-registration for the January 2021 Session (ODL Programmes) till March 31, 2021

While the application process is open for international students, IGNOU has also extended the deadline for the submission of fresh applications for admissions to the January 2021 session for the programmes offered through open and a distance learning mode for Indian applicants.
