For students who want to gain an understanding of international business operations, Indira Gandhi National Open University (Ignou), conducts a course on the two-year PG diploma in international business operations.
"This is a professional programme, which equips students for getting jobs in the international business arena," says Nawal Kishor, director, School of Management Studies, Indira Gandhi National Open University (Ignou). The programme covers areas such as international business marketing, Indian foreign trade, international finance and logistics etc.
The programme is taught through the distance mode in English and Hindi with a focus on self-learning . "We have a teleconferencing facility and a two-way audio and one-way video facility through which we connect our experts from Delhi with the students in regional centres. Besides that, we conduct 10 contact classes. The material, which we provide for students is extensive and comes at their doorstep," says Kishor.
The minimum time a student takes to complete the course is two years and the maximum time a student can take to complete the course is five years.
"After completing the programme , students can have job opportunities in areas such as customs, forward agent, export houses and other business areas," informs Kishor. Students who have completed their graduation from any discipline, from a recognised university can apply. Admissions are on for this programme. The last date to apply is June 15.
