Vice Chancellor (VC), IGNOU Prof M Aslam was conferred “Amity Academic Excellence Award” by Prof Nick Petford, VC, The University of Northampton, UK, during International Business Summit and Research Confer-ence (INBUSH ERA-16), organized by Amity University, Noida.
The citation of the award considered Prof M Aslam as a profound scholar with an impeccable academic background, highly respected person in the world of academics who has been acknowledged world wide for propagating the doctrine of knowledge. It further reads, “Undoubtedly, a professional par excellence, he has created many benchmarks in the field of education and research and is truly a role model for others to follow”.
Prof Gurinder Singh, Additional Group Vice Chancellor and Director General, Amity University in his introductory remarks stated that during his visit to Australia, it was Prof Martin Bean, Vice Chancellor RMIT University, Australia, who proposed Prof Aslam for the award as a distinguished scholar and highly respected in the field of academics.
Prof Aslam has earlier been conferred COL President’s Award of Excellence at PAN Commonwealth Forum held in Brunei, Darussalam, Profess-ional Excellence Award’ of Mewat Development Society by the Union Minister for Panchayats and Social Respons-ibility Award for his selfless service to the society and Mankind by Bharat Nirman at India Habitate Centre, New Delhi. Bangladesh Open University presented an award to Prof Aslam in recognition for successful completion of Panchayati Raj Project in India and its proposed replication in Bangladesh.
He has authored eight books and contributed four chapters in national and international publications including those by Commonwealth of Learning (COL) and Routledge/Falmer apart from authoring dozens of national and international reports.
