Horticulture Cell designs and maintains the greenery in the sprawling campus of the University, spread over 120 acres. The cell also generates sufficient plants for sale. It develops parks at different locations, and maintains them.
Bio-pesticide is prepared at the nursery and is also being utilised for protecting the plants. The cell also grows vegetables without using pesticide. Mushroom (oyster) is also produced and sold in the cell. The cell grows annual flowering plants for beautification at various locations in the University campus, including the residential complex.
The cell has its own nursery on an area of about one acre where all kinds of plant propagation activities are undertaken. Every year, the cell develops around 20,000 ornamental potted plants which are put to decorate different sites, offices and residences of the officials.
It grows chemical free vegetables throughout the year. The Cell has established a small Mushroom production unit. The campus generate huge amount of agro-waste / biomass which is recycled through vermicomposting.

- Recycling the house hold used water through Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs).

- Maintaining biodiversity of the campus. Many patches of natural forest are being maintained in the campus which adds in the biodiversity of the campus.
- Recycling of agro-waste through production of organic manures (NADEP and vermicompost).

- Maintenance of the greenery of the campus. Different avenue plant species are planted in their seasons.
