Workshop on teaching
beginners functional Arabic : Issues and Challenges.
Arabic
language and literature form part of syllabi at undergraduate and postgraduate
levels in some of our universities. Many of these universities have full
fledged departments of Arabic where competent and experienced teachers are
involved in the process of teaching. However, teaching Arabic to beginners
continues to remain quite challenging for many of us. Similarly, learning how
to learn the Arabic language is also another area which needs our immediate
attention.
The main objective of the Workshop is to bring
together teachers and learners of Arabic in Delhi on a single platform for
exploring the best practices and seeking the ways and means for removing the
shortcomings in Teaching and Learning Arabic to beginners. For this purpose,
special arrangement would be made to ensure the participation of 30 selected
Arabic learners enrolled in Universities of Delhi, Like JNU, Jamia, DU and
IGNOU.
Keeping in mind the above objective, SOFL plans to
hold two day workshop on 17th and 18th October (Saturday
and Sunday) 2015.
Following are the sub themes of the workshop:
v Learning how to learn Basic Arabic.
